Norovirus Information from Public Health

Family Movie Night

School Council is proud to present our very first Family Movie Night on Friday, December 16 at 6:30pm. There is no cost for the movie and we will be selling popcorn, juice and water for $1.00 and pizza slices for $2.50. Monies raised will go to supporting the purchase of new resources for our outdoor play areas. Please join us for this fun opportunity to meet other families from the Johnny Lombardi community.

Student Absences

If your child is going to be away either because of illness or an appointment you must contact the school office in order to let us know. We are having a high number of parents not contacting the school, making it difficult for us to complete our Safe School Arrival responsibilities. As you are aware if we cannot get a hold of a parent or emergency contact, we must contact the Police to let them know we have an unaccounted for student.  Your help is appreciated. Let's ensure all students are safe.

Extended Absences
If you are planning a family trip, please contact the office so that we can send home a form for you to fill out informing us of the length of the absence.

Interview Night/Day

Thank-you to all parents/guardians who were able to join us for our first set of Progress Report Interviews.  Our students have been working very hard to improve their learning and develop a strong sense of character.  This was just one opportunity to discuss your child's progress with their teacher. Please remember that if you ever have questions or concerns to contact your child's teacher.

Support our School Council

School Council is running their first fundraiser for the students of JLPS. Each child should have received a flyer outlining the FundScrip fundraiser.  When you purchase one of the gift cards you will receive dollar for dollar's worth of the amount. In addition, the school will receive a percentage of the amount to be used to support school resources, particularly library books and technology. Please take a few moments to go over the long list of businesses which include: Loblaws, Petro-Canada, Starbucks, Home Depot and Walmart, to name a few. They make great gifts!
Your support is appreciated!

Winter Wonderland Concert!

Mark your calendars for Thursday, December 22nd. Students from grades Kindergarten to Grade 8 will be participating in our very first Winter Wonderland School Concert. If your child's class will be participating more information will be coming home shortly with your child.
