Students in grade 7 and 8 had an opportunity to have the whole school for themselves on the evening of Thursday, February 23! Students were able to take part in various activities including: making slime, making their own sundaes, eating pizza, playing volleyball, badminton and basketball and gaming. We had a tremendous turnout and to quote our students, " We need to do this ever month!" Monies raised will go towards supporting our grade 8 Graduation. Thank-you to Mr. Pereira, Mr. Meagher, Mr. Hunte, Mrs. Denney-Falsetta, Mr. Parfeniuk, Mrs. Zainotz and Mrs. Sierra for giving up another one of their evenings to come out and have fun with our students.

Dance-a-thon Success!
Thank-you to everyone who supported our first annual school dance-a-thon. Staff and community members donated prizes for students to win. All students took part and had a great time dancing and being with their friends. Together we raised $3500. Because of your generosity we will be purchasing a commemorative tree for our Official Opening on April 12, math resources for our classes and additional technology for students to work and learn with.

Math Literacy Night
On Thursday March 2nd from 6:30-8:00 pm all families are invited to join us for a fun, engaging and informational evening on Mathematics at JLPS. This will be
an informative presentation to help parents/guardians understand some of the
current thinking in mathematics and how the staff at Johnny Lombardi is working
with their students to develop their life-long mathematical skills.
Parents/guardians
will also have an opportunity to hear directly from Primary, Junior and Intermediate
teachers and see firsthand what math looks like in our classes today; including seeing some of the tools teachers are using and how parents/guardians can support their
children at home.
Each family
will receive math tools for attending.
We encourage
all families to attend this very worthwhile evening. If you have children in more than one
division you will have an opportunity to hear from more than one teacher.
A note will be coming home today, please
return the bottom portion by Friday, February 24th, 2017 to let us know of your intention to attend.
