Our students attend W.A.V.E Conference

 W.A.V.E. (Working Against Violence Everyday)
2017 Empowering Youth Day.
On Wednesday May 10th, 2017 The Grade 4 & 5 Junior Character Education Group from Johnny Lombardi Public School under the leadership of Mrs. Minichillo and Mrs. Godfrey, were given the opportunity to attend the Canada wide 2017 Louise Russo W.A.V.E. Empowering Youth Day at the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga. The students were motivated by guest speakers to take on leadership roles, be respectful, be responsible, believe in themselves and to make a difference. The students were impacted by WWE wrestler Marco Mero, Pop Artist  Vita Chambers  and Matthew-Ray Jones “Testament” speaker. The main message that came across was to prevent bullying, cyber bullying, drug abuse and making good choices of friends as well mental wellness education.  The focus of the event was to empower youth to be aware of their well being. Students left the conference with a bandanna, Believe bracelets and a deeper understanding of what they could do to help eliminate violence.
